Charities
The Bath Half Marathon is one of the largest charity fundraising events in the south west region, providing a valuable source of income for a wide variety of local, regional, national and international charities. In 2012 a record figure of over £1.5 million pounds was raised for charity, and indications for the 2013 Bath Half are that this figure will be surpassed once again
Partnership with the race also serves to raise a charity’s profile, particularly valuable for local smaller charities supporting less popular causes
Each year we highlight the invaluable work of a number of charities. This year's Lead Race Charity is Coppafeel.
GOLDEN BOND CHARITIES
Entries to the Bath Half Marathon have been heavily oversubscribed for the last 13 years
About 15% of the half marathon entries are reserved for our official race charities. These places are available by application direct to one of our Golden Bond race charities, in return for a commitment from you to fundraise for their charity. Many charities offer training and fundraising support, running vests and race day hospitality in return for your fundraising commitment
Some of our race charities also provide us with volunteers to work on the event, in return for a donation from us to the charity. This is an opportunity for non-runners to get involved in the event, whilst also supporting your chosen charity
FUNDRAISING BY ‘OWN PLACE’ RUNNERS
In addition to the reserved places available through our Golden Bond charities we are delighted that so many of our ‘own place’ runners, who obtained their entries by registering direct through our general public scheme, chose to raise money for charity
All of our official race charities welcome ‘own place’ runners willing to fundraise for their charity. So if you have already secured your own place, but have not yet decided which charity you want to support, please consider our lead race charity Coppafeel, or one of our other official race charities
CORPORATE CHALLENGE – FOR BUSINESS TEAMS
Reserved entries are also available for business teams in return for a commitment to raise a minimum of £200 for a charity of your own choice

BATH HALF MARATHON FUND
Voluntary donations made by runners at point of entry are used to provide grants to smaller local charities, as a way of thanking the local community who suffer the inconvenience of the event
